Inspired by BC's rugged west coast near Tofino, but yet hauntingly reminiscent of the West Sands beach of St. Andrews, Scotland. The use of deep colours on the horizon capture a sense of the menacing clouds, darkening above the tumultuous surf, and reflected in the gathering pools.  But is the storm over, as high above a swipe of bright blue with the palette knife provides a glimmer of new hope.  And in the distance, the towering firs silently look on - or could that be the spires of St. Andrews' ancient cathedral just beyond the old town itself?
