About Patricia

Painting, drawing and mark making have delighted Patricia since her mother first handed her a crayon. After years of teaching and encouraging young children to follow their dreams, she is finally realizing hers.

Although grounded by family and friends, Patricia has travelled the world to push the boundaries of personal experience.  And whether it be New Zealand, Sicily, California, or even in Monet's own garden in Giverny, she is always drawn to water.

Since 2015 Patricia has passionately pursued the development of her artistic skills, participating in classes at the Gibsons School of Arts with accomplished instructors Domanik Modlinski, Jerry McLaughlin, Greta Guzek and Verne Busby. Their classes provided her the opportunity to explore a wide range of mediums and subject matters. However, it was when she returned from a 12 day “Open Your Art” retreat in Spain with Marleen Vermeulen and Marlene Lowden that she felt the true joy of being able to immerse herself in painting with both joy and confidence. “Paint and move it with love, not fear” has become her guiding inspiration.

"I feel extremely fortunate to live in Gibsons, where throughout the year the beautiful coastal surroundings provide an endless source of creativity.  I am now working primarily with oil and pallette knife, as well as exploring cold wax technique, to capture the essence of the Coast.  Through my paintings I seek to show the love and contentment I have  found, and to share some moments of peace and joy in this world so full of chaos."

Patricia has exhibited in Gibsons, through group shows at The Kube Studios and Gibsons Public Art Gallery, and in Sechelt with “Friends of the Gallery” at the Doris Crowston Gallery. She is also a participating Artist in the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl.
